“The Women” Starring Jada Pinkett Smith & Other Women

June 23, 2008

I was skeptical at first I have to admit, but the trailer, which was recently released for The Women starring a gang of… women (click here for the star studded cast), looks really cute and funny. A little bit SATC, a little bit Thelma & Louise a little bit rock & roll and The Women is seemingly shaping up to be a happening, hilarious, entertaining and endearing flick (at least from the promo).

Given the box office success of SATC, this is prime time for female directed, written, and starred films to show ‘em what we got. Below is the trailer. The movie is slated to arrive in theaters this October.

Will Smith Says Divorce is Inconceivable!

June 2, 2008

The icon approaching Will Smith will be on “Ellen” today (check your local listings) talking about his marriage and how divorce is emphatically not an option according to People Magazine. WIll and Jada have been married for 10 years, which is eons in Hollywood, and have no intentions of disrupting their vows.

Could there be a change brewing? Usher and Tameka, Jay-Z and Beyonce, umm, Mariah and Nick Cannon… Maybe these star studded unions are in it for the long haul. Hey, even grass grows…

Will’s upcoming blockbuster action flick Hancock hits theaters on July 2nd while Jada’s directorial debut The Human Contract was presented at the Cannes Film Festival.

Everything is sunshiney until Meg Ryan’s character has to pry her infidel of a husband from Eva Mendes’ character, a salon girl.

While all the gossip is surrounding Meg Ryan’s character, Annette Bening’s character is contemplating divorce herself.
