“The Women” Starring Jada Pinkett Smith & Other Women
June 23, 2008
I was skeptical at first I have to admit, but the trailer, which was recently released for The Women starring a gang of… women (click here for the star studded cast), looks really cute and funny. A little bit SATC, a little bit Thelma & Louise a little bit rock & roll and The Women is seemingly shaping up to be a happening, hilarious, entertaining and endearing flick (at least from the promo).
Given the box office success of SATC, this is prime time for female directed, written, and starred films to show ‘em what we got. Below is the trailer. The movie is slated to arrive in theaters this October.

This October (10.10.08 to be exact) Jada Pinkett Smith joins Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, and Annette Bening in the release of the film remake The Women.
Directed by Diane English (creator of “Murphy Brown”) The Women, centers on a group of high-society ladies who spend their days at the beauty salon and court side at fashion shows. Everything is sunshiney until Meg Ryan’s character has to pry her infidel of a husband from Eva Mendes’ character, a salon girl.
While all the gossip is surrounding Meg Ryan’s character, Annette Bening’s character is contemplating divorce herself.
